QUETTA: At least two people were killed and as many injured on Tuesday after an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Awaran Town of Awaran district in Balochistan.
Security officials said unidentified assailants had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) near a shop in Awaran bazaar, which blew up Tuesday killing two people and affecting nearby shops and buildings.
The victims were identified as Inayat Ullah and Balaach. Security officials shifted the injured to the district hospital, while the bodies were handed over to their heirs.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against unidentified perpetrators.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, while a search operation is underway to arrest the culprits.
On Monday, a truck bomb killed person and injured at least 34 people on Outfall Road in the Lahore, officials said, ahead of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s planned rally on Grand Trunk (GT) Road. Another injured of the blast expired in a hospital on Tuesday.
