ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court on Tuesday and went away after a brief eight minute appearance.
The Accountability court allowed him to leave after a brief appearance. On this occasion, strict security measures were put in place around Judicial Complex.
The former Prime Minister is expected to address a news conference today.
Denying rumours about any rifts within the party, Nawaz said consultations within the party continue, but the rumours coming out are only wishful dreams of their opponents.
After making a brief appearance, Nawaz Sharif returned to Punjab House in the federal capital, where he is likely to chair a meeting of senior PML-N officials later today.
Nawaz Sharif reportedly told the jury that his wife was unwell; that is why he needed to attend her. Afterwards, the court granted him permission to leave.
The former PM was accompanied by a lot of minister’s from the federal cabinet.
The NAB court had summoned Sharif after his failure to appear at an earlier hearing on September 19.
