UMERKOT: Khalili Jamaet took out a protest rally to stop the baseless propaganda and using of blasphemous content against their spiritual leader on social media in connection with Ravita’s conversion and marriage at Bachaband town of Umerkot here on Saturday.
They were raising the slogans against Dr. Khatumal Jeevan, the Sindh minister of Minority Affairs, and others that included non-governmental organizations for exploiting the matter with biased and misleading statements on social and regular media. Speaking to the rally Khalifo Jagan Shar said that western backed forces are working against the promotion of Islam and putting efforts to defame its integrity by multiple conspiracy theories. He added that in Gulnaz Shah’s case the above mentioned elements have been using blasphemous contents against Islam and their spiritual leader Pir Ayoob Jan Sarhandi. Quoting that a number of persons asked Pir Ayub Jan Sarhandi to marry his daughter to Hindu boys who are ready to embrace Islam; it’s extremism on the part of so-called social activists. After Sindh High Court’s decision, their narrative of forced conversion and solemnizing marriage against the will of Gulnaz Shah proved baseless and bias, therefore, they should seek an apology, especially from Khalili Jimaet for misleading the matter under their name. He said forced conversion is not possible in this modern day and age. If it’s the case, then peasants and other Hindus living in the village of Pir Ayub Jan would have forcibly been converted. Raees Shahnawaz Shar said that NGOs with the backing of western funds have been hiring the people to mobilize the masses and using them as their instrument to achieve their vested interest.
