ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has halted issuance of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Saeed Ghani’s victory notification in PS-114 by-poll on Thursday.
The decision was taken on plea filed by Muttahida Quami Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) seeking recounting of votes casted during by poll. ECP also issued notices to both plaintiffs.The hearing was adjourned till July-17.
MQM-P Chief Farooq Sattar, while talking to media outside ECP, demanded biometric verification of all votes casted during by-poll.
“MQM-P’s candidate was securing victory till the very last moment. Startlingly, he lost in the end,” added Sattar.
