LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, along with sons Hasan and Hussain, is expected to appear before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday to record replies regarding references filed against Sharif family in Panama Papers case, but the former premier and his sons are unlikely to make an appearance.
Sharif family deny that Hasan and Hussain Nawaz have received any notification for appearance before bureau committee and will be represented by a group to respond on Sharif family’s behalf, according to sources.
Nawaz’s cousin Tariq Shafi and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar have also been convened for appearance today.
To cater former premier security measures, hefty number of security officials have been deployed in surroundings of the NAB premises and hearings of all other minor cases have been postponed.
NAB has sent a letter to excise and taxation department to provide details regarding vehicles registered under Ishaq Dar’s name, providing them time until August 21 to send the demanded information.
Furthermore, Volume X of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing Sharif’s assets case has also been provided to NAB, with JIT members Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Additional Director General (DG) Wajid Zia and DG NAB Irfan Manji called upon for added assistance.
Nawaz Sharif was ousted by the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on July from premiership and further references were filed against Sharif family in Panamagate case.
