ISLAMABAD: Following diplomatic efforts by the High Commission of Pakistan in New Delhi, Indian authorities on Monday released two Pakistani children who mistakenly crossed into their border area.
10-year-old Babar and 12-year-old Ali Raza, belonging from the areas of Narowal and Sheikhupura, were handed over to the Pakistan Rangers on Wagah border – were arrested last year for crossing the border accidently and entering India from the Narowal border.
The children were scheduled to be handed over to the Pakistani authorities on April 10. However, the release was delayed after the military court`s decision on Kulbhushan Jadhav`s death sentence.
However, a relative of both the children, Shahzad, who was arrested along with them, was not released. He is still facing a trial under Foreign Act and the High Commission of Pakistan is following the case.
