ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Friday urged National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to improve its performance.
Addressing a power generation conference in Islamabad,” he said that “Electricity production is expected to reach 22,000 megawatts.” He said that “85 percent area will face no load-shedding during the month of Ramazan especially at Iftar and Sehri timings.”
He said that “load-shedding occurs in areas where electricity is being stolen,” adding that even more load-shedding is likely to occur in these places. He said that “we are ashamed of people who promote electricity theft but those who pay their bills on time will face no load-shedding.” The minister said that “the government is trying to overcome the power shortfall in Karachi.”
