LAHORE: Lahore Grammar School International (LGSI) is a World School following the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum and is authorized to offer schooling following the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) as well as the prestigious Diploma Programme (DP).
This is the first school in Punjab and the second in Pakistan to be authorized for all three programmes. The school claims to offer a student centred teaching approach which enables it to achieve high academic standards. Recently the school hosted an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Orientation. The event was attended by DP students and their parents. A panel discussion was also organized entitled “Challenges of education in the 21st century: How can students be better prepared for University?” Three prominent educationists were attending the event as panellists, namely Adeel Shaikh, currently serving as Assistant Professor, Director BS Accounting and Finance, and Director Design Factory at University of Management & Technology. Saira Farooqui, Head of Business Studies at Kinnaird College University and Ali Hannan, who has served as the Secretary General, Debating Society of Pakistan. The panelists spoke at length on the subject giving special attention to challenges faced by the education sector and how the IBDP, a two year pre-university programme, can be beneficial for students who intend to seek admissions in top ranking universities around the globe.
