QUETTA: Three personnel of Frontier Constabulary (FC), including a lieutenant colonel, were martyred and another three were injured after terrorists attacked their convoy near Panjgur on Monday.
The terrorists attacked FC caravan at Shingar Segar between Panjgur and Washuk. As a result, Lt Col Aamir Waheed, Lance Naik Masood and Sepoy Irfan embraced martyrdom.
Three others including Col Tasibullah, Havildar Attaur Rehman and Sepoy Saeed were injured. The martyred and injured were shifted to hospital. The area was surrounded by security forces. A search operation is underway.
Terrorists also attacked the Levies Thana at Darg-e-Dup in Tehsil Prom on Monday.
According to details, fierce exchange of fire between Levies and miscreants took place. The Panjgur assistant commissioner and security forces reached the area. The miscreants were forced to retreat leaving behind one of their injured who was arrested. He was taken to DHQ Hospital Panjgur.
Two men were injured when their motorcycle struck a landmine near Dera Bugti on Monday.
The two were going to Loop Sehrani from Sub Tehsil Dera Bugti. On their way, their motorcycle hit a landmine at Pathat Nullah. As a result, both riders sustained injuries. They were taken to District Headquarters Hospital in Dera Bugti. Later, they were shifted to Rahim Yar Khan for further treatment.
COAS: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa spent the second day of Eidul Azha with troops in Balochistan.
The top general pledged full support for the development of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief visited Gwadar and Turbat on the second day of Eid and met soldiers.
Talking to the troops, Gen Bajwa said the development of Balochistan was extremely important for the progress of Pakistan. All ongoing development projects in the province shall be completed, Bajwa was quoted as saying.
The ISPR added that the top general promised that the army will extend support to all state institutions in this regard.
The army chief also visited the family of Major Jamal Sheran, who was martyred in a suicide blast in Hayatabad on July 17.
He expressed the resolve to make Pakistan the best country through unity. ISPR Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor quoted the top general as saying, “Pakistan is passion and our lives are for Pakistan. Nothing and no one is above the country.”
“Insha’Allah together we will make it the best country,” Gen Bajwa said. According to ISPR, the Pakistan Army had successfully completed Operation Khyber IV and cleansed Rajgal valley of terrorists by August 21. “Eid on duty for the security of Pakistan and its people is the best festivity for us,” Gen Bajwa said.
