ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Shafqat Mehmood said on Saturday that the Qatari prince had now refused to recognise the jurisdiction of Pakistani courts.
“This means that whatever he earlier sent to Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan or the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has no value,” Mehmood said in a statement.
“The latest stance of the Qatair prince has completely undermined the Sharifs’ defense in the case because they have no documented evidence for their properties abroad other than his letters,” he said.
He said that Sharifs were responsible for ensuring that the Qatari prince appeared before the JIT for recording his statement. “In every court/police investigation, defense witnesses are brought forth by the defence itself. The Sharifs are reluctant to produce the Qatari before the JIT,” he said.
