HAVELI BAHADUR SHAH: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says government has introduced a new tradition in the county by completing power projects in record time.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of 760 megawatt first unit of Haveli Bahadur Shah near Jhang on Friday.
He said that the power generation capacity is being increased at fast track and these projects will help industrial growth, agriculture development, and enhancement of trade in the country.
He said that the completion of this power project in 21 months is unbelievable and power projects are now being inaugurated every month. He said the government believes in provision of affordable and sufficient electricity.
He said that our foes are disturbed over unbelievable development the country is making. He said industry is booming, agriculture is growing, road networks are being established, and tourism is thriving in the country due to effective and untiring efforts of the government to overcome energy shortage.
PM said that the people of Pakistan should question those responsible for loadshedding in the country.
He said the government will continue its drive to establish power projects in the country. He said that the groundbreaking of Dasu Dam having capacity of 4500 megawatt will be performed on Monday. He said this will provide cheap electricity to the people. He said Bhasha Dam will also produce similar amount of electricity, along with provision of water for irrigation purposes.
PM said that no force can deter us to serve the nation and the country.
Without naming Imran Khan, he said those who conspiring against the government have been defeated repeatedly by the PML-N in elections. He said these elements want to come to the power through backdoors by hurling accusations and hatching conspiracies, but the people of Pakistan will foil their nefarious designs. He said our political opponents will not compete us in elections as the PML-N will defeat them with people’s support.
PM said that the Federal Government is undertaking unprecedented development work in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and FATA. He said Lowari Tunnel project is being completed at a cost of 26 billion rupees and this project will also be inaugurated in next few months.
He said transport and communication system is being revamped in the country and the day is not far away when Pakistan will be in the ranks of developed countries. He said 800 billion rupees are being spent on the upgradation of the Railway system in Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan is now getting transformed and real changes can be witnessed in the entire country in the form of infrastructure development. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif addressing on the occasion said that 168 billion rupees have been saved in these three power projects through transparency.
He said that the decision to initiate these power plants was a difficult decision two years back, however, He took this decision for the progress of the country. Chief Minister said new power plants will bring development in all sectors including agriculture and industry besides creating job opportunities.
He said that all power plants are being completed with complete transparency. Addressing the ceremony, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif said that Haveli Bahadur Shah, Bhikki and Balloki power plants will add 3600 MW power to national grid.
He said power supply and demand gap which was 67 percent in June 2013 has now been reduced to 19 percent while the country is poised to cross 20000 megawatt electricity generation. The Minister said that PML-N will go in election 2018 after fulfilling its promise of elimination of load shedding.
He said power transmission and distribution system is also being improved simultaneously in the country.
