Prime Minister Imran Khan appointed Zulfiqar Hussain Bukhari as his special assistant on overseas Pakistanis and human resource development, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf announced Tuesday, giving him the status of minister of state.
The decision’s receiving mixed reactions from the public.
“So glad to see a young dynamic face in the cabinet,” former cricketer Wasim Akram tweeted. “Naya Pakistan has arrived.”

The Pakistani diaspora is a powerhouse of untapped potential.
Delighted to see @sayedzbukhari appointed as @ImranKhanPTI special assistant to unlock this valuable resource to build an exciting #NayaPakistan— Sayeeda Warsi (@SayeedaWarsi) September 18, 2018
Others are not very pleased with Bukhari getting the status of a minister because of his dual nationality.
So how can Zulfi Bukhari be appointed a Minister of State if he is not a Pakistani national – as IK himself says here in a pre-election interview with Hamid Mir? pic.twitter.com/aFXAyX9ziy

Supreme Court removed Shujaat Azeem, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over "Dual Nationality".
Lets see if any action is taken on appointment of Zulfi Bukhari as Special Assistant to PM Imran Khan, or #PTI boy will enjoy the favor as usual.— Majid Agha (@Majid_Agha) September 18, 2018
